From House to Home

Home is not always a place. Home can be a thing. Home can be a person that makes you feel at home. My house is a place, my family turns my house into home. Home is a place where I feel safe. After a long day at school, I enthusiastically walk home and open the door to my house. When I walk inside I get an overwhelming sense of calmness. I feel safe in my house. I feel happy in my house. I feel loved in my house. When I walk inside, I can hear the chatter and the laughter. I can smell the delicious aromas of dinner being cooked, and as I turn the corner I see the smiles from ear to ear. I get a warm embrace from my family and I know that I’m home. I feel comfort in knowing that my family is there with me. My family turns my house into a home. Who turns your house into a home?
