What Does home mean to you?

What does home mean to you? Most people would most likely say it’s a comfortable, and safe place. They’re right, but they could go deeper in detail and emotion, they could make connections. Which is exactly why I'm here to tell you what home means to me. A home is a place where you can be yourself, you're not restricted by other people’s opinions. Home is where you want to dance through the halls, no judgment, you can be yourself or who you want to be. You're not torn down by others' opinions, or how they look at you, how they perceive you. A home is where memories live, every time I sit down in my room I will remember the first time I made an art piece. Every time I walk through the halls I hear lively spirits dancing throughout the home. Whenever I am in the kitchen I remember the first time I made cinnamon rolls with my grandma, and my eldest brother cracked an egg on my middle brother's head. I still remember the warm but sweet smell of the cinnamon rolls. When I sit down on my couch I will remember the first time I met my best friend who is my cousin. A home is culture. I always have things in my home that remind me of my culture like lanterns. Every Chinese New Year I smell the delicious smell of tang yuan (an Asian dish). I'm always reminded to honor your family and culture. Home can be many many different things. Even bad things. But that's okay, it just depends on what you think home is.
