Home Poem

Home, such a strange yet familiar word. A word that holds more meaning than any book that holds words. Home is not just a place to be, it’s not where you came from nor where you are headed. Home is when you have people supporting and guiding you through this humongous, frightening and beautiful world. Home is people who don’t hold you back but instead push you forward, giving you confidence and courage. Home are people who worry as even a small danger approaches your body. They react with caution and are as ready as they will ever be to help however they can. If a danger approaches your mind, home reacts by wanting to help in a way that you may think is controlling but really is just being protective. Yet at the same time still trusts you to handle it. Home is like a large spoonful of warm, fresh, delicious honey lying in your empty mouth. It’s like feeling the warm sun shine against your face making you glow. Home is like listening to birds sing on a fresh spring morning. Home is the people that drive you absolutely insane, but you know they love you to the moon and back. You would sacrifice yourself for your home. Home is family.
