The Meaning of Home

Home isn’t a place with a couch and bed, It might be a place where you return to at the end of the day, But it can also be a place where people understand your feelings when they’re left unsaid, Where you can sleep, stay and play. Home is where good times can stay, Even when you feel like you’re happiness is at bay, It’s where the most important memories are created, Where they can never fade. It’s where love and laughter stay, Where happiness fills the atmosphere, Where you’re family never goes away, Even if they do later that year. Home is where you can learn what’s right and what’s wrong, Where you learn that making mistakes is okay, And when we make them, they never weigh, It’s where we learn how to be strong. Home means nothing without family, It means nothing without laughter, love and happiness, It can’t be a home if you don’t live happily, But sometimes that’s where people find their true nationality. There are different types homes, Ones with thrones, Others with tons of holes, But after all, they are still homes. Some of us live on the streets, Sleeping, eating and living on concrete, But still living, Because the spirit of family is still alive. But those who have a home are grateful, And those who don't have a house are still living with the spirit of love, But in the end, We all thank Habitat for Humanity for having the privilege of our homes. Because after all, The Meaning Of Home doesn’t mean a house, It means having all your family gathered around you, Celebrating love.
