Meaning of Home

Home is not just a structure and a roof over your head. It's a place filled with love, sharing, and caring. Home is where family is and we turn ordinary into the extraordinary. In the bright mornings I can smell mommy’s special blueberry muffins filling the air. Every bite is baked with care. Home is filled with family photos on walls with relatives surrounding you even if they might be far away you can always be close. Home is where arguments get heard in the air and sibling rivalry is almost everywhere. But there is always forgiveness and love that blooms. Home is where there are tears, the raindrops on windows on a gloomy day but then they evaporate in the sky when my mom wipes them goodbye. My cat, Jio , roams around my home and gives love to me even when I'm feeling alone. In my cozy home, me and my dad have movie nights, filled full of love and laughter with the salty smell of popcorn filling the air as we share. The meaning of home means my brothers teasing that doesn't make me fond, but they actually turn out to be a bond. The meaning of home means my sister's fun conversations that make me laugh with my eyes watering, even when i’m feeling down my sister knows how to make my feelings repaired. Home is where I celebrate halloween where I wait for my mom to announce that we are going to decorate the house. The warmth of the blanket delivers a slight shiver of joy and comfortness, and makes me grateful to have a loving home with my family beside me and a place where I can be me. That is what the meaning of home means to me. Thank you Habitat for Humanity for letting kids around Canada share about what home means to them.
