The Meaning of Home

Home. Home is the most valuable place to be. Home is the place where kids learn to have fun and to bond with their family. My home is where I try to escape the reality of being human, in my perspective as being a therian, but lots of kids think of home as their safe and happy place. Kids whose home is their happy place live a long and happy life. Us who use our homes to escape reality have a hard time communicating with others. There are also people who think of home as just, home. We want to try to make everyone feel safe and happy while at home, but this isn’t always possible. All parents want their kids to think of home as a safe place to talk about their problems, yet some kids like me don’t feel comfortable doing that. Trying to make a safe and happy environment can sometimes be easy, and sometimes it can’t. When I'm home I like to read. To me, reading helps me to escape reality. Every book I read it’s like I’m living in the mind of the character. My favourite saying is “A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies, the man who never reads lives only one.” This quote feels true to me, the amount of books you read is the amount of lives you’ve lived. When I’m home, I like to draw. Drawing calms me when my day has been hard. I draw everything I feel, happy, sad, angry, even scared. Home is everything to me, to other kids, and to adults. Home is where we eat, sleep, live, and bond with our families. Home is the most valuable place to be. Home.
