Home is Not Just a Place

Home isn’t just a place where you eat, sleep and avoid rain. Home is where you fill it with special memories and there is no such thing as pain. In a place called home, there is nothing that can be forgotten. You are free to do whatever you want and there is nothing that is forbidden. Home is like a brand new chapter in a book. I can see everything I love and enjoy with one look. There are people I trust and believe by my side. Home is where you can be yourself and there is no need to hide. Home smells like nature: fresh and clean. The warm sparkling shiny sunny sunlight makes you take time off that screen. Home is where I can always smell the sweet scent of the candle slowly melting away. Home is where I can smell my favourite dish, that makes my day. Home is where I hear all my childhood bedtime stories. Home is where my brother tells me silly jokes, as I forget all my worries. Home is where I spend most of my time with my family, talking about goofy drama. I listen to how everyone’s day was, getting comfy in my pyjamas. Home tastes like my mom making “kimbap” rolls, one of my favourite Korean foods. Home tastes like love from my family and friends, which brightens up my mood. Home tastes like rice, a food we eat most of the time. Home is filled with so many important things that aren’t even worth a billion dimes. Home is where you always feel loved, safe and secure. Home is where you can be childish or mature. I feel a sudden wave of joy and happiness in a place called home. That is why I want to help others find their homes with Habitat for Humanity, so that they don’t have to roam.
