The Feeling of Home

Home, a simple synonym for unconditional love. This love beyond the abundant stars above. No matter where you are or when it is, home is where nobody forbids, the spark of belonging you have in your soul. You thrive and grow, which is when your true self begins to unroll. Home is where the memories burst and your mind dances with joy, these memories in which that can’t be destroyed. To me, home is not home without these four things: family, memories, traditions and the snug feelings. When these four things get tied together by strings, they create something called home. At a young child, you have no understanding between the difference of a home and a house, yet as you age, you unfold the next page. You are currently six years old pushing through your siblings, to smell the sweet smell of home, the cookies are hot and sizzling. This is home to me. You are bound to be ten, having fun times with your loved ones, and making memories in your peaceful safe den. This is home to me. You are close to thirteen, and roasting marshmallows around the fire with your family, beginning to get the snug feelings. This is home to me. You are now sixteen with your grandparents, learning new traditions, and developing new ambitions. This is home to me. About eighteen you are soon to turn, leaving your house, feeling that your sanctuary of a home will disintegrate and burn. To be in a whole new environment without your house, trying to find your way through like a lost hopeless mouse. Then you remember your four necessities of home, It is not just doors and a roof shaped like a dome. It is about the comfort and the necessities that make your home, home.
