What is home?

Home can be many different things to many different people. Here is my perspective on what home means to me. Home is a very interesting concept with many meanings. It can mean the place you live or a place you visit often, but to be honest, everybody perceives home differently. Other definitions of home can include a place where you spend a lot of time, like for a sport or practicing an instrument. Home can be the city, town or country you grew up in. I could go on and on about what home is, but here is my opinion. Home means a few different things to me. One of them is a hockey rink. I don’t have the exact number of hours I have spent there but it sure piles up each day. I go there for many different reasons–practices, games, power skating, extra training, and watching my buddies on different teams play. Home also is my house. I am very lucky because I have a basketball court in my backyard, which I use in numerous ways. I play basketball for fun, I shoot pucks daily on the court, and I practice my soccer skills. Also, when my friends are over, that’s where we spend most of our time. Home to me is also a place where you feel safe, cozy, and with people you love. My last home is probably the gym where I train, called Depth Training. All the NHL players from our area go there too, so that’s always pretty cool. The trainers there make me feel at home, even though I am one of the youngest athletes there. They are always very nice and most importantly help me get better at my craft, which is hockey. Home has millions and billions of meanings, but these are some of my meanings for home.
