Home: Perfect Just the Way you Are!

My home may not look like a palace fit for royalty, But, it’s a place where I’ve learned to get back up when I’ve fallen and scraped my knee, You probably won’t see a picture of my home in a calendar for the new year, But it’s a place where I feel peace, love and sheltered from any kind of fear. My home will likely not appear on a television show, But it's where family and friends happily come and go, Getting together for some delicious food and memories to share, It’s the greatest feeling that can’t be found elsewhere. You might not see my home featured in a popular magazine, But it’s the warm, safe place where love and happiness can be clearly seen, My home may not look like the perfect place for all the world to see, The floors are scratched, the walls need painting but it’s a special part of me. Wait a minute, I’ve thought of this all wrong, My home is the perfect place, as perfect as can be, It’s a reassuring voice, a cuddle with my kittens, words of encouragement, loud giggles from my little sister, a soft hug and a gentle smile, It’s the feeling that everything is worthwhile, But most importantly, it’s the place where I can just be me, And know that I am loved unconditionally.
