Meaning of Home

ohana means family. Family is loved ones that make you feel dandy. Home means a place where you feel safe, comfortable, and most importantly; loved. Home can’t just be a place, home Can be tons of different things, it can be a sport or other people, it can even mean you are alone reading book or drawing or wherever your happy place is, a home isn’t a house. A house is just a roof over your head and walls to keep you warm. For me home means a sport, comfort, warmth, family, friends and safety. Firstly: sport/school For a lot of people home is a sport. For me it’s a soccer field or a snowboarding hill. I played soccer for a while when I was little then I switched to hockey and now I’m back in soccer unlike me, a lot of people can’t even afford to go to school or a have a bed or even have a proper bathroom. I met one of my best friends in soccer but most people who live on the streets can’t have the chance to meet a friend or a pet because they cant afford to adopt a pet or go to school. I’m in grade 6 as you might know, I have been going to school for 7 years and I am thankful that my parents can afford it. School isn’t my favorite thing but I’m glad I can go, my favorite school subject tis English and gym. Secondly: family/friends Everyone has people they love, dead or alive. My loved ones include my friends, my family and of course my pets. I have about 5-6 good friends. I also have 1 sister and 2 stepsisters; I met my stepsisters when I was 2 so we basically have been a family for my whole life. for my birthday we have a party with my friends and then we go out for dinner with my family. my family makes me feel comfortable and when I say comfortable, I don’t just mean sitting on your couch watching Disney movies and eating fast food, I mean people who you can feel tons feelings, but a lot of people can’t afford to go out for dinner with their family or have a party with their friends but homes for humanity can help that. I know it’s hard to talk about, but a lot of homeless people die every year because of; hyperthermia, hypothermia, starvation, lack of water or even addiction. So please donate to homes for humanity, even if it’s just a penny. Thirdly: feelings Everyone is always feeling something whether you’re at school or with your family or even if you’re on the streets. I feel tons of different things every day and so does everyone else normally throughout out my day I feel overwhelmed, sleepy, unique, guilty and of course that feeling when you can’t sleep because your too excited. There is a TON of different emotions, I probably only feel about a quarter of feeling around the world every day. Some people think that you can only feel sad if your homeless but that’s not true. I feel sad or angry if I don’t get a good score in school or if I mess up at my favorite sport. When I am around my family, I usually feel safe and comfortable, a ton of people who live on the streets may never feel safe or comfortable and that’s why you should donate to homes for humanity! Homes for humanity makes mini homes for homeless people to live in rent free for as long as they want! Homes for humanity makes people feel safe and comfortable and ready to get back on their feet. Please donate to home for humanity, to help homeless people have a blanket at night and have warm food to eat. I love my family. I hope you love your family too! I wonder if you will decide to donate to homes for humanity! so in conclusion thank you for taking the time to read my writing. And as I said at the beginning: ohana means family, family means no one ever gets left behind. ??
