School is My Home

Bright and funny students laughing at their own jokes and the irritated teacher standing by the door. The grey desks hovering over the students laps, the students resting on their chairs as zombies would. Some different than other, yet no one gives a thought. A familiar scent I have smelt before like it was air, because it’s mine. My sanitizer on my hands, like it was nothing cause it really isn’t. After I finish a sandwich the taste still lingering on my tongue, the teacher is telling us to get ready like an orca whale telling its pack it’s time to go hunting. Laughter fills the room as group of friends laugh and joke around and once again the teacher is telling us to go outside. Voices fill the hallway as other students get ready to go outside to go have fun with their friends. Still not out the door. I feel my desk, the cold metal against my arms which are warm. Outside I feel cold, yet strangely warm like a penguin in Antarctica. Some people might hate this place, but to me school feels nice. It feels good. It feels like HOME.
