The Meaning of Home

Have you ever laid in bed after a long day at work and thought to yourself “I love my home”? well I have. My name is Spencer and today I am going to talk to you about the meaning of home. Firstly, one of the meanings of home to me is family. Family is very important because they make you feel welcomed, loved and safe. Your parents make supper and do laundry and help with so many different things. Your parents also take you to your sports and activities. Your siblings play with you, so you aren't bored. Also, if you have a pet, they cuddle with you and play with you and make you not bored. The second meaning of home for me is my bed and couches and blankets and pillow. Because they make me comfortable and warm. I love to lay in my bed after a day at school and just relax. I also am very comfortable on my couch while I’m watching tv or playing video games. I love my blankets because they keep me warm while I’m watching tv or playing video games. My blankets make me comfortable while I’m sleeping, and I do not like sleeping without a blanket. My pillow makes me comfortable and makes my head warm while I sleep. I have a pillow that I always sleep with because I’m so used to it. The third meaning of home to me is sports. I love sports, and the reason they are one of my meanings of home is that I always watch sports with my family at home. Me, my dad, and my brother watch football and hockey and my mom likes to watch hockey sometimes and loves to watch tennis and soccer. My family has a ping pong table, and we play a lot. Me and my brother play lots of different sports in our backyard. Often, I go to one of my friends’ houses to play sports outside. Me and my family also often go to the outdoor rink to play hockey with some of our friends. The fourth meaning of home to me is food. I love to eat very good food for breakfast lunch or supper. Some of my favorite foods are burgers, steak poutine, butter chicken, tacos and many more. My family used to have family dinner almost every night. Now we have family dinner occasionally. The reason that we don’t have family dinner as often is because me and my brother play sports, so we are busy. In conclusion, me to four meanings of home were family because they make you feel loved, my sleeping stuff because it keeps me comfortable and warm, sports because they are so fun to play and I love playing them, and food because it tastes so good.
