My Home

In a home you should feel free as a dove, Surrounded by family, Friends and love. I can see memories on our shelf, With sentimental items And pictures of our younger selves. My mom pulls me into her arms with a tug, Wraps her arms around me And bombards me with kisses and hugs. I feel the love of my mothers warm embrace, A feeling that no one can replace. I love family movie night, Eating pizza And snuggling up tight. I see a chicken being baste, There’s food on the table And there is an amazing taste. I smell scrumptious cookies that were made with care And fresh laundry smell in the air. I hear us talk about our day And the annoying laughter, Because of something one of us say. After all of these things I think you know what home is, But if you don’t, Then let me tell you what it isn’t. Home is not just a roof over your head, Nor Walls, Or even a frame for your bed. You have to understand that home is Not just a building, Not just an address. Home is a place with the people you love best. My home fits me perfectly, Now all people can have just this. Thanks to the help of the heavenly habitat for humanity.
