Home

A home is a place where I constantly smell a wet, soggy, dog, which that dog is named Bayou! But in a way it is comforting. When you're in a place that you consider home, the smallest little things are comforting. At the moment you may think the wet soggy dog smell is disgusting, but it's still comforting knowing your dog is by your side. The other thing I most frequently smell is baby poop, which I will say I will not miss and don't find comforting. But that's just life with a little baby brother. Speaking of babies, there's also a lot of screaming, but baby Daniel's laughter makes up for it. Whenever Daniel starts screaming, Bayou (the dog) adds to the chorus and starts howling! And his howl is the funniest thing, he tries to mimic ambulance sirens. And he's not all that bad. I’d say the most comforting sound I hear is my most beloved thing in this world, Lorenzo! He's my crested gecko (which I love deeply), and being with him makes literally anything 10x better! Late at night, I'll hear the most subtle squeaking, for a while I used to get scared because I didn't know what it was, but now when I hear that sound, I feel so safe and can't help but smile. I feel comfortable in my home, I don't need to dress well, I don't need to act a certain way, I'm there and nobody can judge me, well they could, but they wouldn't dare.
