A Home is Not Just A House

My home is not just a house, My home is more than that. It’s where my family and I live, Including Minnie, my grey cat. My home is where I go to virtual school, Where I learn and grow each day. A place where I can be myself, And have adventures every day. What makes my home so special, is not just how beautiful it is. My home is more than just four walls, It’s where my memories live. My home is full of love and joy, My room, my creative space. Where my family and I talk and laugh, This is truly my happy place. Through good times and bad, Through sunshine and stormy weather. I can always run home to my family, Where I feel safe and better. By writing this poem, I hope to achieve. A chance to speak out, For the people in need. There are so many families, who do not have a home, Who go day to day living outside, Feeling scared and alone. Habitat for Humanity brings families hope and change. Building safe and affordable homes, Is what they arrange. I may be young, but my words hold power - that’s why I am writing this poem. To be the voice for a family somewhere, So they can also have a house to call home.
