Home is Where my Family is

Home is not just a few walls and a roof, it is actually more than that. For everyone it means something different, but for me, it’s where I am with my family, I feel safe, and make beloved memories. Family is an important part of feeling at home, with them I feel I am loved and taken care of. It's where I got my values from and where I learned how to tackle the world on my own. It’s a place where my needs are fulfilled without being asked for anything in return. It's where my complaints are heard by my parents when I don't get that one toy, which at that moment feels like all I need in the world. Yet they are always there to help me and protect me. When I cuddle up with my parents after a long day, it feels like there is nothing else better in the whole world. Home is a place for me to feel safe, where I can put my feet up, watch my favourite show, and play games. I can act silly and still not be ashamed. Feel proud when I get all my math problems correct and get praised by my parents. Home is where I can hear my sister giggle, it brightens up my day, no matter how sad I am. When she says “You’re my best friend!” It makes me want to stop whatever I am doing, and give her a bear hug. With my family I feel safe, happy, and at home.
