Home Sweet Home at the Rink

Home is a place where I can be happy, joyful and safe. A place where there is a roof over my head and I can be myself with friends and family but not feel alone. I have more than one place that I consider home. Home to me is the hockey rink where I spend a lot of time with friends and family and my hockey family. The rink is my happy place because this is where I play my favorite sport, hockey! At the rink I have practices and games. During practices, the team works hard to improve their skills such as shooting, skating, passing, doing offensive and defensive drills and much more! practice makes perfect. I like to practice shooting on my net at home but also like going in nets sometimes too. At games, we work together as a team. When we go out on the ice we try our best. We are a smaller Atom A team with only ten skaters plus our great goalie. When someone scores on our team the crowd goes wild and sounds like a T-Rex roar! I love hearing that sound. After games, I usually get a candy bag from the arena canteen and share with my teammates. My coaches teach us how to be a better player by skating faster, making harder shots and making better passes. The coaches give us advice and encourage us on and off the ice. Last but not least, my mom is our team manager and she organizes all of our games, tournaments and hotels. The rink is my second home, that's where I have made many new friends through a sport I love and a lot of great memories have been made there.
