THE MEANING OF HOME

I hear the word house and I think of a building. A house has walls, lights, floors, windows, kitchens, bedrooms, washrooms and a living room. These rooms have a couch, fridge, beds, tvs, table and chairs. Our backyard has a pool, fire pit, swing, and a trampoline. In my house, I like to sleep, eat and play. But all of this doesn’t make a home. The things that make a home are happiness, being safe and being comfortable. In the pool my family and I have happy times playing games. We also have happy times sitting around the fire pit making s’mores. Inside my home, I have fun in the basement watching a movie and sitting at the dinner table sharing a meal with my family. One of my favorite places in my home is my bedroom because I feel safe and comfortable. The sign of a true home is being safe and happy.
