The Meaning of Home

For me home is family, friends and pets. I”m lucky to have a house for my home - some people don’t. Because I have a house, my family can live together. My family loves to do 3d puzzles, play board games, and watch movies. We also like going outside, skiing, sledding ,and skating. If I didn’t have a family, I’d feel sad because I wouldn’t have someone to play with if my friends were away or someone to help me in the kitchen. I wouldn’t have gone to musical theatre, dance, and met all the amazing people there. I think it’s important for people to have a family that cares. Because I have a house, I can invite my friends over. My friends are a big part of my life, we have so much fun together. Some of my friends climb trees and roofs with me. My other friends like to bake with me or play with my gerbils, and sometimes we just read. If I didn’t have friends, I would be lonely and sad and probably would not be the best actor I could be. I think that people should have friends because they can cheer you up when you have a bad day. Because I have a house, I have room to keep the cages my pets need. My pets make me happy even when they don’t smell good. My gerbils were my first pets. I have had them for one and a half years now. I still love them a lot. My next pet is a mouse. I share him with my next-door neighbour. If I didn’t have pets, I wouldn’t know how to care for them and how to handle them without hurting them. And that is why home means family, friends, and pets to me.
