Ember's New Home

Once upon a time there was a little dragon called Ember. He and his family were moving, but Ember did not want to go. He liked his house, he like his school and he liked his friends, and they would be moving all the way across the mountain! They were moving because they needed to help their Grandma as she was getting old and she was having trouble hunting. Ember understood; but, he still didn’t want to go. “Why do we have to go?” Ember said to his dad for the 100th time. “You know very well why we have to go,” responded his dad. “Your grandmother’s bones are getting weak and she’s having trouble hunting. But you’ll be able to visit your friends.” Ember still didn’t want to go. “You should go to bed,” his mom said. “It’s getting late.” The next day, Ember’s family took the train to their new cave. As soon as they got there, Ember ran around it. “It’s humongous!” he exclaimed! There was a kitchen, a dining room, three bedrooms, and a bathroom. It even had a 200 inch TV! But it didn’t feel like home yet. Ember’s dad shouted, “Come on! Let’s get these boxes out of the car!” After a few hours, it was unloaded. Now it was time to unpack. As they put their things away Ember noticed a small box. In the box was one of those old fashioned CD players that you see people carrying around in the movies. “Surprise!” Ember’s mom said. “Wow!” Ember said happily. “Let’s turn on some music!” So they did. Ember, his parents, sister and Grandma started dancing. Suddenly his new cave felt a lot like home, and he realized that home wasn’t a place but it was the people in it.
