A House to a Home
I was tall, mighty, big, and strong,
But no one came to stay,
But no one came to stay,
I saw dogs, humans, and many more,
All looked at me with awe,
No one came inside,
So what is the point?
I felt hopeless, am I a failure?
I didn’t feel safe without a family,
As time passed, I became old, lonely, and weak,
I had a pipe with a leak,
There were cracks in my walls,
There were insects and creatures who moved in,
Maybe creatures of unimaginable power were my kin?
When one fine day a family moved in,
I was thrilled as they came in,
Nervous as I was,
They were poor and I was free,
I was a hive for bees,
At first I was sad given such a poor family,
Then I realized that it didn’t matter,
They love me and I love them,
As time went on, they made me better,
The once quiet rooms were now filled with laughter,
The poor became the rich and I was strong again,
Now I understand that I shouldn’t let them down,
And I am NOT a house, I am a home,
And I am NOT a house, I am a home,
