What Home Means to Me

My home is like a nest Peacefully nestled high above the ground Covered with feathers to protect me from stinging bees, And far far away from the falling trees Difficulties and troubles become light as a feather Because my family is with me, and their smiles that make it even better, I show gratitude for the words and smiles that encourage me Reminding me, we are all in this together With my heart belonging to our nest I love the help from my family the best. The nest that hides me from everything Growling, hissing, cawing My home is what protects me. Cared and nourished by those who trust me. My home is where I am free And that is why I sing, dance, and jump with glee My home is what taught me to survive in the wild Yes, my home makes me grow to be a confident child Spring is coming and soon I spread my wings And live life to the fullest To fly to places I want to be Though I wish to live in my nest forever and ever. It is time for me to help build a nest In my little way, I am writing a poem To give shelter to those needing a home Because having a home is always the best.
