Home

Home is a structure built on the ground A place where I recognize every sound Though the address may change over the years All my memories stay with me, they won’t disappear Sometimes I forget my home’s meaning, and scurry like a mouse But then I remind myself I have a great house Home is wherever my family is And what I will always remember is this I’m lucky to have a roof over my head at night But some people don’t have one - not everyone might Home is a safe place, a great place to be Home is the place where I can be me Home is where I spend time with the people I cherish My memories with them shall never perish And that’s why with this poem, I want to help someone in need And encourage people to do this same caring deed I want to build more than a roof and 4 walls Every helping hand, no matter how small Can help make a community A great opportunity To forge a good friendship that we won’t ever forget To care for each other, no need is unmet I want to be part of that, I really do And it can start with people like you
