Home is My Heart
A home and a house are different things.
A house can be four brick walls with a roof and a door.
As small as a mouse as big as a tree because either way I am free.
A house can be old or brand new but either way the inside is a place to be you.
A house can move from time to time but the inside is a place for you to shine.
A home is the inside of a house.
A place to make memories.
A place to be free, A place to be loved, A place to express your emotions.
A place where there can be some shenanigans.
A place to know'that you are enough.
A home can include your family or friends.
Someone you love, Someone who cares, Someone who is nice and also fair.
A pet can sometimes be a part of your home
Sometimes a pet can be the perfect thing to flip a frown upside down.
A home can have a hamster or mouse.
Or just maybe the perfect couch.
Perfect hair or ugly scars, these people appreciate me and let me know
that I’m perfect just the way I am.
The people in my home are the people I love, my family.
The people who never let me down,
The people who encourage me to keep on going and fulfill my dreams.
The people who will always be there for me and will always make me feel welcomed.
The people who put a roof over my head and gave me a home.
I am thankful for my home.
Writing this poem gave me joy.
Thank you Habitat For Humanity for giving someone a home.
I really hope writing this poem makes a difference.
