Meaning of Home

I have a home. Habitat for Humanity makes it possible for others to have a home. In my home I have people that share a bond with me. They take care of me and help me in many ways. They help me with my homework and support me when I need encouragement. “You can do it!” or “You're doing great!” Your family will always have your back. There are many things that can hurt us, such as natural disasters. Our houses protect us from natural disasters and keep us safe. In a natural disaster your family can comfort you if you’re scared. You can also make yourself comfortable by going in a pile of stuffies or using a foot massager. No matter how much I like my home, others might not think the same way. They might say things like “Your house looks like a junkyard!” or “This is the worst house I’ve ever seen. I should not be offended by that and I won't because that means nothing. No one and I mean no one can tell me how my home looks. To me my home is unique. It feels special to me, even though my mom keeps telling me to clean my room. I love my room the way it is. Messy works for me. I am grateful I have a home to eat, sleep and read in. I am grateful, I don’t live on the road, homeless, with no family and food. These thoughts give me the urge to help, which is why I’m writing this. Even though I can’t build houses yet, I know that by writing this I am helping and giving hope to make other lives brighter.
