The Meaning of Home

"Home - The place where one lives." - Reader's Digest Webster's Canadian Dictionary and Thesaurus Home means lots of different things to different people. To some it means the roof over your head, to others it means where you can be yourself. I've always had a home. Both definitions of it. But some, I know, are not as lucky. Some long for a home. They have an aching for it, are slowly breaking for it. For some the safety of a home dances just beyond their outstretched fingertips, for the price of a home is too much. By getting a home, they are leaving everything else to chance and luck. Of course in that context I mean home as a house, but it's not always that. I don't think home is a place. I think home is a feeling. That feeling that warms you up inside, makes your insides bubble with joy. That's why I have many homes, I have my home with my family, my home with my friends, and my home at school. I know to some that might sound weird, but, at least to me, it's true. That's my definition of home, and someday, I would love to hear yours.
