The Meaning of Home

Normally people see home as somewhere you eat and sleep, but I see it differently. If you actually take time to think about it, home is where it all began, the beginning of life. My home is balanced, comfortable and loving. I live in a balanced home with just the right amount of everything. My time is balanced with a variety of activities. I play video games, I go outside (when it’s not -29°C). My family and I play board games, we have movie night. It’s balanced and amazing. I like music, reading and playing video games in my home. I alternate between all three. My favorite is playing on my xylophone. Secondly, home is comfortable. In my comfortable home, I feel the breeze of the AC in the summer, the warm air of the heater in winter. I feel relaxed, sleepy, and happy. My little dogs make me feel safe. Whenever a package is delivered, they go crazy! Whenever I am sad they comfort me and cheer me up (or bark constantly, either way I love them.). My bed is where I am most comfortable. I feel relaxed and zone out and listen to my thoughts fade away. I love living in my very comfortable home. Finally, home is loving. In my loving home, I smell the cinnamon candles, hear the birds singing (and my sister complaining as usual). We tell funny jokes and do pranks on my step mom. These are wonderful memories that we are making together. Sadly, I am moving, but change is good. I will love the new house as much as this one because ´home’ is not just bricks, it’s the balance, comfort and love you bring. Home is the beginning of something great. It’s part of who you are.
