My Home

My family and I moved into our home during the pandemic. We were all moved in and settled down when things took a turn. I was laying on my bed when my mom came in to say goodnight. “Mom, what's this stuff on my bed?” I asked. “Let me see... Oh! That’s our popcorn ceiling! My mom yelled.” “Get out of your bed now!” A few days later we got people to test if the popcorn ceiling contained any Asbestos, it did. We had to move out after just moving in! We moved back into our basement after two weeks of living at our Nana and Papa’s house. Then mum and dad decided to rip out our pink carpet and put in nice flooring and that was two more weeks in the basement. Even worse, the two weeks lasted over Christmas! When we finally finished our floors, it looked fabulous! Even though we still have some renovations going on right now it still feels like home. It makes me feel happy because of all the fun and exciting memories my family and I will make together. My home also makes me feel safe because my family and I share it and I feel loved. At my house we sing and dance, play games and tell stories, but most importantly we have fun. Sault St. Marie ONTARIO 705-297-0272 macl2854@adsb.ca 171 Louise Ave. Arabella MacLachlan Age: 11
