Why a Home is Not Just a House
Why is it that you refer to where you live as your home and other people’s home just as a house? Maybe because you think that it is because you don’t live in it. But I believe that a home is more than just a house, it’s a place that you can go when you’re hurt, angry, sad, or lonely. It’s peaceful and sound, welcoming and proud and chaotic and loud. It’s messy and crowded, healthy and clean, creative and artistic, beautiful and connected, busy and crazed, and all the in-between. It’s safe and secure, sturdy and strong, helpful and giving, forgiving and tall. It’s caring and loving, knowing and wise, spacious and bright, plenty and kind.
It’s cozy and warm, comfy and close, connected and segregated from the rest of the world and infested with noise. Your home, the place you love the most, forever at your bedpost. It’s not just some house it is your home that you will cherish forevermore the rest of your life on this planet. The reason I believe that you refer to where you live as your home and other people’s home just as a house is because whenever, whoever, wherever you go, everyone deserves a house to turn into a home so they can experience calling their house a home.
