What is home?

Home is not a place, it has never been, Home is a feeling that takes time to be seen. Home is not just four walls, a ceiling, floor, Home is not a place, it's a feeling and so much more. Home could be your pet, a person, a community. Home is tremendously filled with amazing opportunities. When I think of home my mind goes to family, Whom which without I wouldn't have made so many memories. When we were participating in an outdoor game, If someone got a point “goal!” I'd proclaim. As we enjoy movie night and relax, We get cozy on the couch with all of our snacks. No matter who you are and what you do, You deserve a loving home that's caring too. My hopes with this poem is to raise money for my community, to give everyone the same opportunity. To live in a home free to be yourself and able to roam, To feel what I feel when I think of home.
