Different Meanings Of Home

Home can mean different things to different people. To some, it can be an apartment, or an alley. In my essay, I’ll talk about my homes, different living situations, and families that aren’t as cookie-cutter. My family and homes are an example of an ‘odd’ family. My mom and dad divorced in 2019. My dad is single. My little brother and I go there every other weekend. We stay with our mom every weekday, and other weekends. Mom is dating a guy who lives in Ottawa. We visit him and his daughter often. We have a half-sister and half-brother, and we share a father. Even though it’s different, I love my family and they are my home. Some places people call home are different from what others would call it. People may live above a shop, in a large home, and maybe even a RV. Different lives can result in different homes. Owning a large company can result in a large home, or spending a lot of money can result in a small home. Home isn’t necessarily a house, it can be wherever you make it. When people think of family, they normally think of a dad, a mom, kids. However there can be other types of family. Family doesn't even have to be relatives, it can be anyone you protect and love with all your heart. Family can be friends or distant relatives. Classmates can be closer than your relatives. In a family, blood isn’t relevant. All that matters is you love each other, feel safe together, and share memories with each other. In the end, home doesn't mean anything in particular, because it can change, person to person. I hope you enjoyed my essay, and learned a little about my family, different homes, and families of all kinds.
