At Home

Home is where I feel safe and secure, Even when the biggest of storms hits. Home is where I learn lessons, Which I use to build a better life. Home is where I feel creative, I believe all my dreams can come true. Home is where I have my loving family closest to me. Home is where we work together to make our lives better. My mother is kind, encouraging, and gentle. She is my guiding light through the dark path, Where would I be without her? My father coaches me through my life, He teaches me and points out my mistakes, So I know what's right and what's wrong. My sister is closer to me than anybody else, We argue, but we also play together, My life would be so much more fun with her, As she is my very best friend. The gifts of a home I take for granted But what about those without these gifts? A stick and brick house cannot define a home But it is a foundation for a great home. Houses and homes are for everyone, Everybody deserves a place to call home sweet home. Home is more than just a place to stay. It's the place I can always return to after a long day, The place where the best memories of my life are made and cherished. The place where I can truly be myself, Whoever I want to be, Whoever I will be.
