What Home Means to ME
The meaning of home. Home is the place I look up to and where I feel perfect. When I’m coming home from school and my feelings are hurt, it is the place where I can see my mom, dad, sister and brother. Home is a safe place. Lately home has been a lot of different things. During COVID-19 it has been my school and when we order food from a restaurant it has been a restaurant. Sometimes it can be hard but in my heart I know we will get through this thing together. During this pandemic, we have to be safe and be brave and have confidence in ourselves. There are a lot of rich people out there and you see how much money they have to help them get through this. This has taught me to just be grateful for what you have right now. My home helps me feel safe during this pandemic. Home is family.
There are a lot of homeless people out there and at least by writing this it can make me feel safe, and I hope that homeless people feel safe someday like me. My family pays for taxes and heating for the house to keep me safe and everyone in the family safe. I'm just so lucky that we can afford all of this. It made me so sad that everyone does not have the money that they need. All I'm saying is there's a lot of homeless and poor people out there that do not have a lot of money. But some people that do, and I am one of those people, that cares and who is making a difference in the world. Home does have a lot of meanings but to make a home, I need my family and friends to make it a true home.
Lately in school, we have been doing a lot of fundraisers. One of the fundraisers we did was a food drive. When I brought in pasta for the food drive it really made me feel good because I’m helping someone in need. By doing this we are raising money to help the poor and I thought bringing this up would make me feel good when I can bring in food to donate. Just by doing little things it can make a big difference. I was a part of the food drive and in my heart, I knew that it was the right thing to do. Anyone in the world has a choice and I picked yes and now that I’m talking about it I really think you should do it because now I'm not only making a difference you will too. What I’m really trying to say is just be grateful for what you have. Because I’m making a difference in the world doing all these little things it can make a giant difference even if you don't think so right now. I learned this because when my sister was sick, a lot of very nice people helped us. Now it is my turn to help. I'm also showing that I care just as much as any other person would across Canada and the world. There are a lot of people that have a home, and they never see how many people don’t have enough food. Food is an important thing in life because it keeps us alive. Learning how to help others is an important part of a home.
Home has a lot of meanings to me but the thing I love the most is my family. They have been doing a lot of things to keep me and my sister and brother safe during this pandemic. During the pandemic my mom has been working at the hospital as a nurse. But the thing I love the most about her is she is keeping everyone safe. My dad is a teacher and during this pandemic he has been working online but now he is teaching at the school again. School is very important and helps a lot of people The thing I love the most about my dad is he is very smart and loves to play sports with me. My twin sister, Shanna has been keeping me busy during the lockdown. The thing I love about my sister is that she is my best friend, and she loves to play hockey with me. We always look out for each other. My brother, Matthew loves playing hide-and-seek, but he loves doing all the seeking! The thing I love the most about my brother is he is so kind, and he loves to wrestle with my dad that is why I love my family so much. Everyone is different in our family, but we all work together to make a home.
My home is great. We go on a lot of adventures like camping and before this whole pandemic started we drove all the way to Myrtle Beach together as a family. We camp in a trailer, a tent and do backcountry camping and fishing. Every time we go on an adventure and when it ends I know there is always an adventure ahead of me. Sometimes we had terrible adventures like once my sister had cancer. It was a very terrible time dad said, but we got through it and now we are all okay because my family will get through everything together. Shanna is so tough. All I am trying to say is I really love my family and friends. If I had any wish it would be to make sure everyone would have the right amount of money they needed and a comfortable and safe place to live. That would be my wish if I could have any wish it would be that. This is why I love my family and friends and this is what home means to me. Home is everything.
