That Feeling
The memories we make with our family are everything.” You walk in a door and memories come rushing back to you. Every time you’re in the place you have that feeling
Do you ever look through old photos and realize most of them are in the same place? It could be at a park or a house or pool. When you see yourself in these places you always look happy or excited. Once you visit this place all these memories come rushing back to you and even if you are sad and upset you have a slight feeling of happiness inside you.
Remember the first time you fell out of the tree you climbed? All of those things taught you one thing, that you should be more careful. But, remember when you fell out of that tree and your family members rushed over to get you? You felt safe and loved. You knew no one could hurt you. When you feel this you’re at home.
Imagine going over to a family's house for holiday dinner and sitting in a chair next to a looooooong table. I look around and see all my family together laughing and talking. Then when the food arrives at the table and I take a moment to breathe it all in. It smells like heaven. The table is filled with the food that my great-great-grandparents taught my great-grandparents who taught my grandma.
Do you ever tell stories about the “good old days”, memories you had growing up? you make most of your memories in a place you call home. That is a memory rushing through your head. This can be about anything. The lessons learned, the food and traditions of your ancestors and more. What memory do YOU have when you walk through “that door?”
