Meaning of Home
To me home has always been a structure or a building over my head. Over the past couple of weeks, however, I've realized that home is not just structure or building over your head. To me home is love and joy, comfort, warmth and value.
Home is a place made with love and joy. As I walk in my home I give my Mom and Dad lots of hugs. When I get inside my parents ask me about school. They make me feel supported. Bright smiles fill the air, they make me happy. I will always love my family. When I'm at home I feel love and joy.
Home is a feeling of comfort and warmth. It is watching happy movies, belly laughter, and buttery popcorn. It is also hot chocolate by the fire, roasting marshmallows and wet clothes drying. Gentle words fill me with happiness as I talk to my brother. Home is comfort and warmth.
At home I feel valued. I can always be myself. I don't need to worry what other people think. I can act happy, sad or even angry but I will always feel valued. My family and friends support me, when I get my report card they always congratulate me. That is how I feel valued.
Love, joy, comfort, warmth and value are just some of the many things that remind people of home. Habitat for Humanity is an amazing organization trying to help low-income people afford housing. When Habitat for Humanity helps people afford a house, they then get to create a home.
