The Home That I Know

What is a home, you must ask yourself, Is it where your embarrassing pictures stand on the shelf, Is it the scent of your moms new perfume, Or the place where your dad left his coffee since noon, The place where you were comforted after you lost a race, Or where you celebrated when you came first place, The soft rug and the warm crackling fire, Or where you where you were educated by your sister on fashionable attire, It turns out it is all of those, Because true happiness shows, A house and a home are not the same, Unlike what some may claim, You could have a home good and pure, And yet be exceedingly poor, Or you could have a beautiful house, But feel as lonely and small as a tiny mouse, Now one last thing before I leave, I give a message to all those who grieve, For loved ones and loved things, lost in the flow, That no matter how down things go, That light shines better after the dark, So keep the spark, Alive and glowing, And just let your mind keep on growing, Because soon after this clears away, The light will shine for another day.
