The Meaning of Home

Home isn’t the property or house that you own. Home doesn’t have to be made of bricks or of stone. Your home doesn’t mean where you get out of bed. Your home isn’t where you always lay down your head. No, home is a special and safe place to be. It’s where you spend time with your whole family. Home is where you go if you’ve had a rotten day. Home is where people listen if you have something to say. Home is your husband, wife, family, or friends. Home is a place where love knows no ends. It makes me really sad to say Some people don’t have a place to stay. They sleep out in the streets all night, Which definitely isn’t right. That’s where HfH helps out, Building houses for people without. Volunteers work hard all day, To try to keep homelessness at bay. They make houses, that part is right, To fill poor family’s hearts with delight. But homes are not what they make. Homes need something special in their wake. It’s not until a family is in, Then a home starts to begin. So that is what home means to me, It’s anywhere that has family. It can be big, or it can be small. Sometimes home isn’t a house at all. Home is where you feel loved and safe. It’s also where you feel strong and brave. I hope that everybody agrees That home is the very best place to be.
