The Foundation
My house is the foundation of my family,
But not everyone has a foundation for their family.
A house stands tall, big and all, but it’s not just cement and bricks, It’s protection from darkness.
When I take my first look at the house, lights shine as I walk through the hall thinking what our first day would be like,
I imagined it as God giving us a shield to protect us from the dangers outside.
When we eat our first meal, I think of people that don’t have food or shelter.
Later, when the day is at an end, when I try to sleep I keep thinking about how lucky I am to have a roof and four walls.
When I wake up the next day, My heart sings a melody to my brain, saying he likes it here.
I feel like I never want to leave.
But as the family grows, the house gets sold,
you burst into tears, remembering all the good times in your house, but when you move into your new house, the story starts again. You get your smile back in your face as you move into the new house.
The house is stable on the ground, not letting you down.
A house holds memories like your first word or your 10th birthday.
A house is a place where families bond, to create stronger love between them.
A house keeps you safe from rains and storms, to keep you dry and so much more.
Your heart lies in your house.
Some people in this world don’t have a house, not even a shelter.
I’m writing this poem hoping that my words save a life.
We should donate to people without a house to stay.
Everyone deserves a house like you and me.
