Home

To me, home is a warm feeling that settles quietly in my heart. Home is where I feel safe, comforted and loved. At the heart of my home is family - the people who know me, love me and care for me. Home protects me from the sharp edges of the world. When I am home I am shielded by trust and the assurance that I am cared for. Home is love in its purest form. Love that doesn’t demand perfection. At home I feel valued for who I am. Home is a place where my memories sparkle. When I come home it is like the weight of the world has been lifted off of my shoulders and where I feel God's presence. One of the happiest images of home is my mom hurrying towards me to give me a gentle hug. It is the warmth I feel after a bad fall. Home is filled with unconditional love and grace. This is where love teaches me that I am worthy not because I am perfect but because I am created by and cherished by God. Home is like a warm hug and is as familiar as my own name. Home is as quiet as a still lake and as gentle as the sun. My home is like a warm blanket keeping me warm and safe in a storm. Home is the smell of fresh pancakes that wake me up on a Sunday morning. Home is curling up on the couch next to a crackling fire with warm blankets and pillows on a snowy day. It is the sound of my family laughing in the kitchen. My home is many places, but my true home is where I belong.
