My Home

Home is where it is warm and snug. I feel calm when I am at home. At home, I don’t need to act a certain way. I say what I want to. Home is where I spend time with my family, listen to one another, and enjoy each other’s company. My family and I eat meals together. We watch movies and pause to talk about the confusing parts. Together we embrace what’s scary and laugh at what is funny. When I am at home, I can be who I am. I don’t have to be a different person because my brothers, sister, mom, and dad know who I am. I know that I am safe and protected. My home is familiar. I know my favourite places to go. I love to spend time upstairs with my pet rabbit. I know the rules, about where to eat and when to help my sister with homework. My family can tell when I am sad, and they care about how I feel . After I long swim practice I come home, sit at the dinner table and smell, and eat the exquisite dinner my dad has made. My dad cooks dinner for my family and me. Sometimes I don’t like it. It is fun because every day it is not the same. I love dinners like, salmon, and my dad’s specially seasoned pasta. Home is where I can let my feelings go. There are stories shared. Home is a collection of all the things we love. Home is where I am free to be myself.
