A House is Not a Home

A house is not a home. A house is where people live, sleep and eat. A home is where I live, somewhere where I can feel like myself. In a house you don’t get the special feeling like in a home. In my home you feel special like you matter and feel cared for. In a house, you have things that make you happy. In my home, I have special things that make me create memories. In a house, you eat outside food. In my home, I eat my mother’s traditional food. In other living rooms, there are people on their phones not paying attention to anything else. In my living room, my family and I are having movie nights and playing board games all together. In a regular bedroom there is a bed and a closet to keep clothes. In my bedroom I have my bed where my mom takes care of me when I’m sick and in my closet is where I keep all the clothes bought out of hard work. I used to ask for a lot of things but once I realized that most people can’t have even a little bit of what I already have, I felt even more blessed than before. Thank you, Habitat for Humanity, for helping those in need, I am truly grateful for all you have done.
