Home: My Happy Place
First home to me is where I feel safe with my family. In fact, home is where I belong and where I can be myself.
When I get home from school I smell the yummy and delicious food that my mom and dad make for me and my siblings. When I go upstairs to my room I see my comfy bed with my blankets, pillows and stuffies.
My home is also where I make unforgettable memories with my family and friends, like the first time I learned how to walk. This is my home where I know what belongs where, like when I'm done using my markers I put it back where it was placed like before.
I am not the only one that lives at home. I also live with my three siblings, one brother and two sisters. When I walk into my little sister's room I see her and my brother peacefully together with toys.
Furthermore, I'm so grateful and lucky to have a family that is loving and cares about me a lot. However some people aren't able to have that type of fun so that is why I care a lot about my family and love them.
My favourite food that my parents cook is everything, mostly Moi Moi. Moi Moi is when you put beans in the blender and mix it all together and you can add as much spices as you want. When it is in the blender you can also put crayfish in it then blend it. After it is done blending you are going to take a roll of tinfoil and cut it and place the Moi Moi in the tinfoil and wrap the sides shut. After you do that you have to put it in a pot and cook it until it looks like jelly but a bit more pie looking in english you call this food bean pie but in my language, Igbo, we call it Moi Moi.
Home is not just a house it is also a country where lots of people live, even you! Some homes are destroyed by tornados, floods, fires and even from strong winds. People feel sad when their homes are destroyed, but fire fighters and volunteers come to help. People supporting you when something happens shows your country can be your home.
Family with different genes could still make you feel at home. I’m not talking about the genes you wear. I’m talking about the genes in your DNA. If you don’t have the same colour eyes or hair doesn’t mean you're not special. You still belong to your family.
Home is a unique place because of your family, food, and country. You should take care of your home wherever it is.
