Home
Imagine us as earths,
As planets in the sky.
We spin and twist on our own paths
In the space that is so bright.
For the sun,
The sun beats; hard and high
On us who try,
And try
And try
To live without a home; a light,
To carry the burdens of storms in our time,
That we hide inside the blue green and white
That conceal our true insides.
But homes,
Oh homes.
Our blankets; new tones
Of purple and blue:
Of sapphire hue.
Magnetic fields that protect from all pain,
Anger and sadness,
Brokenness, shame.
My shield, you ask?
Of life, love, and more?
Must be God, my King,
This faith in my core.
But who’s to say you can have only one,
For my sister,
My mum,
My father
Someone
that is not yet known,
All of them have a place in my home.
To you it may be three,
Or four
That feel so warm you need nothing more.
Like fragrances sweet,
Those that you meet,
Worlds profound found deep in the core.
