What Home Means To Me

When I was four years old, we went on a family trip to Salt Spring Island. We stayed at the Salt Spring Inn. Our room was small and cozy, it had a cute little bathroom, and you had to go up the stairs to get to our room, as there was no elevator. And lastly there was a restaurant downstairs. My parents reminded me that at some point during dinner I asked them “When are we going home?” and they replied “We're going back home to Vancouver in 3 days.” and I said “No, I mean home!" pointing up to the hotel room. My parents say that they learned a valuable lesson from me that day, that home is not necessarily where we live, it's wherever we are together! To me, wherever I feel loved, comfortable and calm with my family, that's what home means to me!
