Home is where I belong

Home is where I learned to smile and cry, to eat and drink. It’s where I took my first step, said my first word, made my first mistake, and solved my first problem. I learn something new at home every day. When I think of home, I think of my dad making me laugh. I think of my mom teaching me every day after school, reminding me to work hard. I think of my brother going out of his way to play with me, even when he’s busy. I think of late Friday family movie nights. I think of days when I just jump into bed and want to sleep. I even think of family table talks as we share stories. At home, my family is always there for me. They teach me how to forgive and forget, to share, to love, and to be there for one another. I will always be able to trust them with my secrets. To me, home is a place where I feel safe and loved. It’s where I truly belong.
