Home. House. What's The Difference

KJV Proverbs 24:3-4 “3. Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established: 4. And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.” People could say things like “Home, house. Same thing.” If you really think about it, there are many differences. In this scenario, I’m going to explain what the differences are between the two. Picture this. You’re a twelve year old kid who has made countless memories at home. The thought of home gives you so much happiness! You love where you live, you never want to leave. You remember times when you played board games on Friday nights and laughed while eating freshly baked cookies. Walking up the carpeted stairs, you admire all the unique and fun pictures. Those frames hold memories of your family bonding and growing but… you have to come back to reality. Sure, you had an amazing past, yet everything is packed up, ready for a new place. You get in the backseat of your car, staring out the window. You see the sign which says “SOLD!”, and in your head, you say your farewells to your school, friends, your home. You enter into this unknown house. It’s nothing like you’ve seen before. It feels gloomy, sorrowful and empty. Everything is lifeless. You feel uncomfortable, you want to go home but you can’t. It's time to start over. After a few months, you got used to the house. Eventually, you made new friends and blissful memories. The house became more than just a building. It started feeling like home. This is what I think the differences are. A house is just a place to dwell in. It’s a shelter, but a home is where the heart is. It’s a place to build unforgettable memories.
