At Home, I Am Safe and Content
Home is a funny thing.
For some, it’s a house. For others, it’s food and water.
For me, home is where I feel happy.
Home is sitting on the couch with a laughing family.
It’s having a school to go to everyday.
It’s being lucky enough to have a roof over my head and food in my stomach.
It’s having a loving family who support me in everything that I do.
Home is not just a place; it’s a state of mind.
There is a lot of homelessness in my neighbourhood.
There are people who don’t have a roof, or food and water, and they didn’t do anything to deserve that. Our society is not always fair.
Sometimes I imagine what it would be like to not have a home and to have that feeling of security.
Then I realize I have no idea what that could possibly be like, how difficult it must be. I know that I am fortunate enough to not have to worry about how I’ll afford food tomorrow.
To me, home is being able to feel happy and content, knowing I am safe and secure.
