A HEARTH OF EMOTION: The Meaning of Home
What is a home, what is a house?
Loud as a boar, quiet as a mouse.
A protective place with no fears to face
Not just a house, an apartment or workplace.
Home is a passion, a smell, a taste
A wonderful feeling wrapped tight around your waist.
A place of happiness with nowhere to dwell
A place filled with family, a tenderness, a spell.
A house can be a home, a home not just a house
A story filled structure with your mom or your spouse.
A battleground, a turf for siblings to brawl
A soft landing pad where a baby can crawl.
Not just 4 walls, a chimney, a roof
A safe place where I don't have to be leak proof.
Where people may go, be loved and deceased
Where you can be more than a goof or a beast.
No insecurities, a place for maturities
To cleanse your mind be left with just purity.
Though they’re gone, they live in the photographs
Your family is there, to be your other half.
My mom and grandma best cooks in the household
I’ve never been left looking through a blindfold.
I love my family my sister, my mother
My long distance family who I'm ready to smother.
Thank you, thank you home for humanity
You’re helping good people save their sanity!
Without out a home, I’d be quite out of my mind
Because a family like mine is quite hard to find.
I’ve never lost a family member
But if I did I’d always remember.
The pain it would display
Already gives me a feeling of dismay.
What is a home, what is a house?
Without all this affection, the home is a jailhouse.
