Any Home

So long ago, Yet feels like yesterday, I recall a home, My home. A beautiful, large, strong, comforting, and cozy-looking House A house, Any house, Would be my sight, For my sore eyes. The old sound of the front yard tree, Scraping against the window. The fireplace, Crackling. The laughter and chatter, Of my long-gone family. The delicious smells coming from the kitchen, The ancient scent of my mother’s perfume, Floral and sweet. The feel of my soft duvet, Bundled around me. The touch of a family member, Comforting and reassuring. All these senses, All in one home, Come together as one, Just like a family. Just like a home By: Keira Littlefield
